The Village of Waterloo is Requesting Input on the Downtown Revitalization Initiative application at the Rotary Farmers Market Saturday

Waterloo, NY, September 14, 2022 – The Village of Waterloo will have a booth at the Waterloo Rotary Farmers Market on Saturday, September 17, 2022 to gather input on the Village’s application for up to $10 million in Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funding from the State of New York. Those that participate will be given an opportunity to comment on potential projects included in the application.

Potential projects include building improvements, streetscape upgrades, and canalside enhancements.

Additional information on the State’s DRI program will be provided at the meeting. Those not able to attend in person can participate via SurveyMonkey starting Friday, September 16, 2022:

Village of Waterloo – Job Posting

The Village of Waterloo currently has an open full time laborer position available in the Department of Public Works – job duties include:  driver for refuse truck & refuse handling per the Village existing pickup schedule Monday thru Friday.  It also includes working on Village infrastructure repairs such as streets, water and sewer.  Full time position benefits are included.   Applicants should have related experience and must submit an application through the Seneca County website online:  https//seneca-portal.mycivilservice.com/.  Preference may be given to those who have a CDL license.

They can sign up using the link below or by calling the Emergency Management Office 315-539-1757 or 315-539-1756.  This link can also be found on the county website on the 911, Emergency Management, or Sheriff webpages. Landlines are automatically added to the system, but you must sign up to register your cell phones.  Please share this information with your residents. Thank you!

LEGAL NOTICE – Notice of Public Hearing

Village of Waterloo 

The Village of Waterloo will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. Residents may attend via phone conference. For contact the Village office at 315-539-9131.

The hearing is held for the purpose of hearing public comments on the Village’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2021 funding year.  The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), and will make funds available to eligible local governments for housing; economic development; including microenterprise assistance for businesses with five or fewer individuals including the owner(s); public facilities; public infrastructure; and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals.  Comments on the CDBG program or proposed project(s) will be received at this time.  The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.    

Comments and questions can be sent via email to villageoffice@waterloony.com or submitted in writing to Village Mayor, John O’Connor at 41 West Main Street, Waterloo, NY 13165 until Monday July. 12 2021 by noon. If special accommodations are needed for persons with disabilities, those with hearing impairments, or those in need of translation from English, those individuals should contact the Village of Waterloo at (315)539-9131 at least one week in advance of the hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements.
