“The Culinary tent is a great resource to learn about foods grown and produced locally in Seneca County and the surrounding Finger Lakes area,” said CCE Executive Director Ave Bauder. “The public is invited to taste delicious samples, while getting new recipes and nutrition tips. Also this year we have two different competitions. A Venison Chili Cook-Off on Saturday for all of the wild game hunters as well as sportsmen’s clubs and on Sunday a Jr. Iron Chef Competition. 10:00AM- 11:00AM: Good Morning Smoothies- start your day with a refreshing, protein & fiber packed smoothie! 11:00AM- 1 PM: Farm to School- CCE is working with NYS Department of Ag & Markets to bring more local produce into school cafeterias. Try some Farm to School recipes from this year, check out our apple slicer, and learn more about this exciting program. 1-3PM: Showcase of Local Foods- come learn what foods will be available at the local farmers markets this summer, get local wild game & fish recipes, and sample local products.
3-5PM– Best Healthy Recipe Contest- CCE will be highlighting best Healthy recipe winners. Recipes are from local residents and are judged based on use of local ingredients, healthiness, and, of course, taste!
Sunday, May 28th, 2017 10:00AM- noon: Start your Day with a Healthy Breakfast! Learn some new recipes and tips Noon: Worksite Wellness- learn ways to stay healthy throughout the workday with recipes and exercise tips to help stay energized.
1:00PM-4PM: 2nd Annual Jr Iron Chef Competition open to teams of Middle and/or High School Students. Watch youth repurpose vendor food from the festival into something different and earn an opportunity to go on to the NYS Fair. Special guest
