Wednesday May 25th, 6:00pm Concert in LaFayette Park – Seneca Falls Community Band Brass Quintet

Park2C

What could be better on a beautiful spring evening than the sounds of our country’s heritage floating on a soft, warm breeze? Join the SFCB Brass Quintet for renditions of patriotic songs, and other familiar tunes from throughout our nation’s past, including American favorites such as Yankee Doodle, Shenandoah, St. Louis Blues and many others. The five piece brass band, led by trumpeter and notable bandmaster Andy Stobie, also includes Janelle Bradshaw – trumpet, Claire Damaske – French horn, Wendy Kain – trombone, and John Lash – tuba. The group has been playing together for several years and is poised to provide a rousing and inspirational performance to please audiences of all ages.

Originating in 1985, the Seneca Falls Community Band was founded by the Kirk-Casey American Legion Post #366 of Seneca Falls to encourage community spirit through participation in a community concert band. The band
would perform for civic festivities to increase community spirit and pride, visibility, increase membership participation, and audience satisfaction.

In July 2011, in cooperation with Senator Mike Nozzolio,
we had the honor of performing for the dedication ceremony of the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Romulus, NY. Photos of that event are posted to our ‘Photos’ tab above.

In addition to the full band, we have a brass quintet
that can perform for any special events that you may have. The Seneca Falls Community Band Brass Quintet has performed for such events as Ludovico Sculpture Trail dedications, Geneva Library Concert Series, the Vince’s Park Fourth Of July Celebrations, and even some weddings on Cayuga Lake.
