
MEET PRESIDENTS, DIGNITARIES AT PUBLIC PRESS CONFERENCE
Have you ever wished that you could talk to President Abraham Lincoln?
Do you wonder what Generals Grant and Lee were thinking about when they met at Appomattox Court House to sign the peace treaty that ended the Civil War? What was life like as a slave?
Now is your chance! All the dignitaries and presenters who will be at Living History during Celebrate Commemorate for the 150th anniversary of Memorial Day will take questions from the press and public. The press conference will be at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 28, following the parade. It will be behid the Waterloo Community Center on Oak Street. Follow signs to the Presenters Tent.
Attendees will include President Theodore Roosevelt, President Abraham Lincoln, General and Mrs. Ulysses Grant, General Robert E. Lee, Sojourner Truth and Frederick Douglass.
The press conference will be moderated by veteran newswoman Doris Wolf. The public is urged to attend with questions for the participants. After the event, the participants will be available for photographs and autographs.
